About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the Director for Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Subspeciality Service, Bethesda Maryland.
Parking at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is limited, the use of commuting alternatives is recommended.
Duties
Schedules and modify appointments as appropriate.
Coordinates and manages templates for Developmental division and other ancillary divisions in Pediatric Subspecialty.
Serves as alternate front desk professional when required to support.
Track and maintain division documents and supplies.
Retrieve and handle official mail and facsimiles for the department.
Serve as official point of contact (POC) to receive telephone calls and visitors.
Arrange and attend multi-disciplinary clinic meetings and/or conferences.
Use office automation tools, such as Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access) to accomplish clerical, administrative, statistical, and data entry tasks. Creates spreadsheets and recurring reports.
Utilize current electronic medical record system to accomplish patient assistance tasks.
Establish and maintain administrative files to include Excel spreadsheets.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position is Mission Essential.
- This position requires Childcare Background Check (due to regular contact w/ children or adolescents).
- You must undergo a specific initial background checks, investigation and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records to obtain and maintain a suitable determination to occupy a position having regular contact with children.
