You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Headquarters and Support Battalion of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will provide expert advisory services to the commanding officer, executive officer, management, and personnel regarding general administration.
You will plan general administration work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short term priorities, and assigns deadlines for completion of work.
You will supervise the action of the battalion Administrative Chief to ensure general administrative requirements and the S-1 Office complete services promptly.
You will review, process, and track incoming command correspondence for appropriate action.
You will ensure recommendations for personal awards and decorations received via the electronic awards system are screened for proper format, spelling, grammar, and compliance with higher headquarters' directives.
You will coordinate the official mail program for the Commanding Officer, departments and special staff.
You will ensure personal mail is delivered and picked up from the military post office, the mail is sorted, controlled and made readily available for pickup by departments, special staff, and tenant commands/sections during normal working hours.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to have successfully completed the Marine Corps Adjutant Course and Marine Corps Personnel Officer Course.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assigning work, tracking projects and ensuring completion of administrative matters AND assisting in developing standards and guidance for the improvement of other activity's or agency's administrative practices and methodology to resolve management problems.
