About the Position: This is a Management Analyst position is located at Redstone Arsenal, AL with the US Army Space and Missile Defense Center (SMDC), Deputy Chief of Staff G-8, Force Structure Division.
This position is a Temporary Promotion position, Not To Exceed 1 year, (extendable to 3 years) by a current permanent Army employee and may be made permanent without further competition.
Duties
Serve as a Management Analyst, working independently, as a team member, or a team leader, in the conduct of management engineering studies which will include technical and/or nontechnical functions in varying organizations.
Develop and administer the implementation of specific doctrines, policies, and directives relating to management policies and procedures and establishment of an appropriate and effective management engineering program.
Conduct various types of studies (reviews, surveys, manpower staffing standards).
Participates in or oversees studies which analyze mission and functions, determines validity, analyzes workload requirements of organizations, functional areas or activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.
- This is a Temporary position intended to last 1 Year . A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing policy and program actions such as: cataloging and tracking of program taskings; analyzing impact of directives on the organization; issuing instructions to commands on adopted administrative policy; and briefing leadership on incoming/outgoing projects/programs; anticipates problems, develops sound solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02/GS-11).
