This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration.Incumbent serves as an Archives Technician in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Incumbent performs non-professional, quasi-professional, and technical work that supports access to archival holdings and physical and intellectual control over records.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-05 grade level is defined as one year of experience at the GS-04 grade level, or equivalent, that is typically in or related to the position and which equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: Experience communicating to customer inquiries, verbally or in writing AND Experience following and referencing archival policy and procedures; such as monitoring, pulling and refiling records, reference, arrangement and description, and holdings maintenance. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 4 years above high school OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
