About the Position: Headquarters, US Army Forces Command Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Duties

Independently identifies the need for and develops new policy or recommends changes to existing Department of the Army (DA) policies, standards. Procedures for managing operational, tactical IP-based data networks, associated automation and supporting information assurance (IA) actions. Develops and maintains architecture models of operational and tactical automation baselines. Represents FORSCOM at meetings, conferences, and working groups to present and defend the command.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Security): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning mission command system requirements within and outside government entities for the arrangement of personnel; networks; information systems; processes & procedures; and facilities & equipment; 2) Recommending policy changes, standards and procedures for managing operational, tactical and strategic data networks, associated automation and supporting information assurance (IA) actions; 3) Directing and coordinating signal operations in a government environment or equivalent field to execute strategic equipment and force structure modernization initiatives; and 4) Preparing information papers briefings, and/or executive summaries and presenting briefings both orally and in writing to higher echelons of leaders such as Senior Leaders (Flag Officers) and Executive Offices both inside and outside of the headquarters This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
