Duties

The Industrial Specialist is responsible for a variety of industrial processes and procedures, including, but not limited to preparing price quotes, quality assurance procedures, and making recommendations to improve production efficiency in a Textile Factory. The incumbent is also involved in the production, planning, and scheduling of the manufacturing program.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level. OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in technical clothing and textiles field, e.g., identify various fabric characteristics, stitching techniques, machine requirements, and specialized fabric finishes and treatments. Experience in plant layouts, machinery used in the fabrication of products and production control to ensure textiles sales and earning goals are met. Knowledge of UNICOR operating policies and procedures. Experience in handling a complex multi-function analyzing new product design, manufacturing, new construction, inmate employment, quality requirements, profitability and customer service. Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
