Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Telework may be authorized.

  • Employee must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Employee will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee is required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime.
  • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Management Advanced certification requirements within required timeframe after appointment.
  • For all candidates, an advanced degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is desired.

Candidates must currently hold Foundational or Practitioner certification in at least one of DAWIA Functional Areas (Program Management, Test and Evaluation, Life Cycle Logistics, Engineering and Technical Management, Contracting, Auditing, Financial Management, Cost Estimating). Engineer candidates must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) All Professional Engineering Positions, 0800, Individual Occupational Requirements: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdf. Computer Scientist (1550) candidates must have a bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. 4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing. 5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees.

Education

  • Computer Scientist (1550) candidates must have a bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
