You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Distribution Management Office of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will load and unload materials for routing to storage areas.
You will check stock for storage techniques to maintain shelf life and condition.
You will inspect material received for possible damage.
You will comply with directions from higher graded personnel to verify materials and items are properly handled, loaded, and secured for transit.
You will follow warehouse regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to lift and carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- You will be required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Mechanized Material Handling license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
