This vacancy is for a Regional Director position in the Department of Commerce, Atlanta Regional Office located in Atlanta, GA. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Regional Director, 0301, 15, FPL GS-15 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Duties

Planning, preparing, directing, managing, and supporting a large- scale program of field data collection operation, i.e. survey, census, etc. Develop staff for succession planning including team building, and the maintenance of highly effective and efficient field workforce. Implementing and managing of administrative rules, regulations, and policies for payroll and personnel for recruiting, hiring, retaining, and paying a large, decentralized field staff. Planning, coordinating, deploying, and managing automated systems and property for field data collection

If you are not eligible under this announcement, please see announcement number 24-ADFO-12225001-IMP-KL Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: managing or supervising a large group of employees that are geographically dispersed, planning and overseeing a nationwide or multi state household, setting priorities, establishing milestones and schedules, and identifying resources for projects or programs, overseeing a wide range of administrative operations and support services, and preparing and presenting speeches to a variety of agencies and representatives to establish and maintain working relationships. OR Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
