About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Kirtland AFB, NM.
This position will be filled as Flexible or Regular Part time Employment Category. Flexible is guaranteed 0 hrs/week. Regular Part time is guaranteed 20hr/week, Position may be eligible for Health and/or Dental insurance, Group Life Insurance, Retirement Plan, and 401k.
Tour of duty for this position may include Saturdays and evenings.
Duties
This position is assigned to either a Sports/Indoor/Outdoor activity.
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities.
Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed
Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., are not simply manual labor assignments); inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical examination
- Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment lift test

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned;
ability and skill in dealing with the public.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, and push/pull 100 pounds.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
