Duties

You will diagnose information technology (IT) customer service requests to determine feasibility of additional requirements with existing capabilities. You will provide support to the Customer Technical Representative (CTR) by interpreting and representing the Customer in contract discussions and requirements. You will review installation plans to ensure they meet Customer and Regional Operational requirements. You will oversee the procurement of hardware or software releases to maintain compatibility with current operations. You will analyze information technology (IT) policy and planning issues to resolve problems.

Requirements

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position.
  • You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 (Technical Support Specialist) intermediate level within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing support to the Customer Technical Representative (CTR) by interpreting and representing the customer discussions and requirements; 2) Serving as senior technical advisor for all customer service problems; 3) Providing input to CTR for preparation to the final report on Contractor performance for the applicable task order; and 4) Providing customer representation in any discussions regarding service level agreement clarification and or definition and support process. NOTE: This information must be FULLY supported by your resume. IN ADDITION, I have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies: 1. Attention to Detail, 2. Customer Service, 3. Oral Communication, and 4. Problem Solving. Education

For the GS-11, education may be substituted for Specialized Experience as follows:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management.
OR
Successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
