About the Position: This is a TERM position Not to Exceed 13 Months with U.S. Army Military Police School (USAMPS), Directorate of Training & Leader Development, Force Protection Training Division, Antiterrorism Branch at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Duties
Serve as primary instructor for Antiterrorism Officer Basic and Advanced courses.
Assist in courses administration through scheduling classes, requesting support materials for classes and maintaining class records to include student academic records.
Provide coordination with military and nonmilitary agencies for guest speakers and special visitors.
Provide support to field units as needed and develop feedback with field units to maintain accurate and relative course instruction.
Advise students on subject academic problems and endeavors to stimulate more interest in subject matter and enthusiasm for subject to be studied.
Travel as a technical advisor when necessary by various modes of transportation (Civilian and military aircraft and may be required to climb on to and into combat vehicles) as a representative of the U.S. Army Military Police School.
Perform a range of public relation services to ensure the MP training programs receive positive visibility and acceptance within USAMPS, the Combined Arms Center, TRADOC, DA, and DOD.
Analyze requirements, develop a training plan in concert with the priorities outlined in the DOD directives and DA Policy and recommend courses of action which maximize training impact within resource constraints.
Conduct research and provide input to doctrinal and training materials.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft. The employee may be required to travel into hostile areas of operations.
- This position requires the employee to travel frequently, (9-21 days in duration, 35% of the calendar year) as a member of a Mobile Training Team.
- May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- The employee may be recalled to duty.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
- This position requires the employee to successfully complete the Antiterrorism Branch Instructor Qualification Program within 120 days of assignment.
- Incumbent will have to pass a pre-employment physical to meet physical requirements. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination
- Must have the ability to climb on to and into combat vehicles, stand for several hours in duration and lift, on occasion, up to 80 pounds.
- May be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: working either as a Battalion/Brigade level Antiterrorism Officer or as an Antiterrorism Instructor that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: applying actual operational knowledge to present instruction in Antiterrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP); assisting in development and evaluation of mission based curriculum, training methods and techniques; recommending revision to lesson plans and training support materials; and coordinating development of AT/FP doctrine. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
