You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Nuclear) in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, Nuclear Quality Division (Code 2350) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will prepare engineering reports and briefs on test and evaluation processes and results.
You will analyze operating problems and recommend changes to correct deficiencies.
You will develop reports and present findings as they relate to day-to-day operations.
You will maintain radiation safety in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, developing and documenting quality requirements for products, services, processes, and systems.
Experience applying administrative and technical procedures and quality controls that govern all phases of nuclear reactor plant work.
Experience reviewing reactor plant test procedures to ensure proper operation of reactor controls and instrumentation systems.
Experience identifying and resolving deficiencies and recommending changes to technical documents, specifications and instructions.
GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, developing and documenting quality requirements for products, services, processes, and systems.
Experience applying administrative and technical procedures and quality controls that govern all phases of nuclear reactor plant work.
Experience reviewing reactor plant test procedures to ensure proper operation of reactor controls and instrumentation systems.
