You will serve as a TRAINING ANALYST in the Lifting and Handling Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will establish and maintain a document control filing system for a variety of files, records, reports, etc. and accomplish filing, file purging and correct disposal when appropriate. You will process, route, and maintain up-to-date training plan and lesson plan updates. You will be responsible for ordering and processing of training materials and equipment for the division. You will receive, record, read, analyze, process, and maintain current copies of written technical materials utilized for training purposes from a variety of networks, programs and systems. You will maintain a comprehensive database system tracking the training courses and disciplines effected by updates, revisions, and new issue of technical documents. You will review, evaluate, and monitor training data for trends, efficiency, and accuracy. You will recommend plans for improvements in reporting, training scheduling, execution, customer service, documentation, facility use, and other related processes. You will develop, maintain, and distribute training schedules, reports, forms, charts, and graphs. You will provide oversight of administrative duties necessary to support the needs of the division.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is mostly sedentary but requires frequent walking between equipment stations, offices, and buildings with some stooping, bending, standing, kneeling, lifting and carrying of items that may be required.
  • The incumbent is required to climb stairs and walk on sloping ramps.
  • The work requires extensive periods of operating a computer keyboard while seated.
  • The employee may be required to make trips in inclement weather, drive vehicles, and use steep ramps and ladders on ships and barges.

Qualifications

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and maintaining training program data to identify trends, prepare reports, and make recommendations for ensuring effectiveness of a shipyard training program. For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in providing administrative or technical support to organize program data, prepare reports, and maintain training records for ensuring effectiveness of a shipyard training program. Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
