You will serve as a Risk Management Specialist in the Work Integration Branch, Operations Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will develop a risk management strategy for documenting a project's approach for implementing the corporate risk management process on the project or within a functional organization. You will maintain a risk management database and develop and submit risk management reports to support project, organizational and customer meetings and communications. You will represent the Risk Management Program at leadership meetings, conduct workshops, and hold one-on-one meetings to assist the project team, ships force, functional organizations, and customers to identify risks. You will encourage and promote ownership and support of the risk management process throughout the project team or functional organization. You will identify lessons learned that should be mitigated as a risk on current availabilities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • The work involves regular and recurring shipboard inspections and investigations; surveys which require long periods of standing with some walking, stooping and bending and climbing onboard ships and in shipyard facilities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing risk management strategies or processes to ensure compliance with ship project performance goals and metrics.
