You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the OSH DIVISION (N43), FACILITIES, ENGINEERING & SAFETY DEPARTMENT (N4) of NCTAMSLANT NORVA.
Duties
You will manage the Safety and Occupational Health programs at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT).
You will be the advisor to the Commanding Officer and all managers and supervisors for Safety related issues.
You will conduct Safety Self-Assessments, coordinate Safety Award packages, draft and maintain the NCTAMS LANT Safety instructions.
You will conduct Monthly Safety Coordinator Meetings, conduct and attend Safety Inspections, and councils and committee meetings.
You will conduct OSHA investigations and participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Safety Inspector General (IG) inspections.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience using Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) concepts, practices and principles for the prevention of accidents.
-Experience reviewing and evaluating various work practices involving electrical, mechanical, Radio Frequency Radiation (RFR) and fiber optic operations.
-Experience analyzing situations and conditions to prevent injury or mishaps.
-Experience working with firefighting equipment and motorcycles sufficiently to teach others safe operation and procedures.
