Duties
As a/an Grants Evaluation Specialist, you will:
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Implement national policies, standards, procedures and guidelines with regard to the monitoring and evaluation of all applicable programs.
Provide feedback to the Division Director regarding the effectiveness of current policies and procedures in meeting Office of Native American Programs objectives and the unique concerns of assigned Indian communities.
Meet with Indian Tribes and Tribally Designated Housing Entities and others to exampling the grants evaluations procedures of applicable programs.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-12 is one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience must include:
- Monitoring and evaluating recipients performance in administering housing or community development grants;
AND
- Ensuring that programs are implemented in a timely manner in compliance with all applicable requirements, including program policies;
AND
- Identifying technical assistance needs and providing support in increasing program management capacity;
AND
- Developing and recommending corrective actions to address recipient noncompliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Specialized experience for the GS-11 is one year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent, that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience must include:
- Monitoring and evaluating recipients performance in administering housing or community development grants;
AND
- Assisting in ensuring that housing programs are implemented in a timely manner and in compliance with all applicable requirements, including program policies;
AND
- Working as part of a team identifying technical assistance needs and providing support in increasing program management capacity.
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
