About the Position: Serves as the program coordinator for the Human Performance and Wellness (HPW)Program under the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), HPW, United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) in Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Plans, develops, and implement a continuous, integrated functional analysis to validate current and future requirements.
Conducts both short- and long-term planning, coordinates and manages assets in a multi-million-dollar program designed to enhance Soldier performance, prevent injury, and facilitate rehabilitation ARSOF Soldiers, referred often as tactical athletes.
Assists in establishing and maintaining management processes and technical environments conducive to effective integration of the functions of planning, development, contracting, operations, and resource management associated with program management.
Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for multi-million-dollar contracts for personnel and equipment to support the program.
Researches and interprets all impacting and influencing guidance, drafts and recommends standards and policies for program performance to achieve established and approved goals and objectives.
Analyzes, forecasts, and programs resources necessary for the integration and synchronization of future technologies and capabilities.
Evaluates program outcomes to assess successes, adjusts resources and their application to attain Commander’s intent.
Operates motor vehicles in performance of assigned duties. Performs driver maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter,
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- The incumbent must be able to complete and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification/training IAW DoDI 5000.72.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in: 1) Applying Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, processes, and application of technical disciplines in the education and training of human performance science and nutrition. 2) Interpreting directives, instruction, and policy regarding human performance and rehabilitation. 3) Facilitating the work of government and contract personnel. 4) Assisting in managing assets for a program designed to enhance Soldier performance, prevent injury, and facilitate rehabilitation of Special Operations Soldiers. 5) Compiling data and information for review and analysis to assess trends and issues for a Military Special Operations Human Performance and Wellness program.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
