About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command, 106th Signal Brigade - Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Serve as the Information Technology (IT) Specialist for US Army NETCOM Regional Network Enterprise Center Central-Redstone (RNECC-R). Provide expert advice/guidance pertinent to Cybersecurity program policies, guides, and procedures during all stages of the automation process. Perform as the Senior Cybersecurity Compliancy analyst for all aspects of security matters in administering a security program. Function as a technical expert for risk management, security, and contingency planning for the local Cybersecurity program. Analyze overall system program development and conduct studies to evaluate and determine IT requirements, automation improvements, and/or enhancements. Plan, develop, implement, and maintain programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of automated systems, networks, and data.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• Must obtain and maintain at a minimum a Secret security clearance.
• Physical examination is required due to lifting up to 45 pounds.
• TDY may be required up to 20%.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by conducting investigations on security incidents involving unauthorized access or misuse of Information Technology (IT) systems; utilize cybersecurity tools to scan for system or network vulnerabilities; and ensuring the application of information security or information assurance policies, principles, or practices in the delivery of all IT services AND At minimum one year of specialized experience which includes working as a Cybersecurity Compliancy Analyst managing Army Endpoint Security Systems (AESS) and/or Assured Compliance assessment Solution (ACAS) systems within an U.S. Army environment. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
