About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.
Duties
Responsible for the planning, execution/coordination and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs and practices), training, education, and outreach for sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Analyze, assess, and clearly communicate program objectives, policies, operations, and resource data to ensure efficiency in the development and execution of the command’s SHARP-related prevention activities.
Conduct environmental scans and determine the manner or type of needs assessment that is most appropriate. Use professional knowledge to compile and analyze data that summarizes trends, prevalence, incidences and outcome within the community.
Identify efficiencies in primary prevention development and delivery.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Requires successful completion of OSD and/or Army-level prevention training course and completion of all requirements within 90 days of being in the position.
- Position is Mission Essential.

- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 10% of the time.

- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Basic Requirements:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, Which includes: 1) planning and executing/coordinating prevention activities (policies, programs, and practices) in the area of sexual harassment/sexual assault; 2) Conducting data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of prevention activities (policies, programs, and practices) in the area of sexual harassment/sexual assault; and 3) coordinating and implementing primary prevention activities that address individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community factors that contribute to sexual harassment and sexual assault.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
