This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located within the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Public Works, Operations and Maintenance Division, Buildings and Grounds Branch, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Read and interpret contract documents to determine contract requirements and performance standards. Review reports, document deficiencies, and provide input for proper remedial action. Observe, inspect, and investigate all construction and service phases to ensure compliance with specifications. Review contractor's partial payment estimates for items of work claimed. Coordinate inspection with other inspectors who may be maintaining surveillance over construction at the site.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid state driver's license.
  • The incumbent may be required to obtain a government driver's license.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 5% of the duty time.
  • Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position mayrequire an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Working with projects involving the maintenance and repair of equipment, systems, or facilities; 2) Assisting in reviewing reports and documenting deficiencies; and 3) Assisting in reading documents to determine contract requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full academic year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
