About the Position: This position is with the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA. Incumbent will serve as a Rotational Logistics Coordinator within the Plans Branch in the 916th Support Brigade and works independently under the supervision of the 916th Support Plans Officer.

Duties

Execute and maintain the 916th Support Brigade, Sustainment Theater opening and closing process, coordinating with rotational units on logistical requirement. Coordinate logistical planning, resourcing and direction of logistics operations designed to provide rotational and home station training. Formulate logistical guidance in support of future rotations training readiness of modernized active and reserve component forces. Advise and assist in carrying out logistical responsibilities of primary staff and action officer to create and maintain a working environment conducive to mission accomplishment. Anticipate problems and devise solutions resolving conflicts between routine and special logistical support requirements.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes resolving issues related to the logistics of group training programs that may involve rotational cycles; analyzing logistics to forecast logistical requirements for the organization; and providing recommendations to improve logistical operations in areas such as supply transportation, maintenance or procurement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Logistics Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
