About the Position: Serve as the subject matter expert on maintenance programs and logistics systems to provide technical guidance and support to leadership.
Duties
Monitor equipment usage and availability to ensure alignment with operational priorities and readiness requirements.
Maintain compliance with Army logistics regulations and policies to ensure successful audits and reporting accuracy.
Collaborate with contracting officers and vendors to secure repair parts, services, and equipment necessary for maintenance operations.
Conduct capability analyses to identify logistical gaps and develop recommendations for resource alignment with mission requirements.
Track readiness metrics and maintenance reports to assess program performance and recommend process improvements.
Facilitate the scheduling and execution of equipment inspections and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure mission-critical availability.
Analyze budget forecasts and maintenance cost data to manage operational expenses and identify areas for cost savings.
Implement corrective actions for deficiencies identified during quality assurance inspections to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) security investigation
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Overseeing the integration of maintenance, supply, and quality assurance programs to ensure mission readiness and operational efficiency; (2) Developing long-range logistical and maintenance plans to address contingency operations and surge requirements effectively; (3) Validating data input and system integrity in logistics platforms (e.g., GCSS-Army) to ensure accuracy and compliance with Army regulations; and (4) Preparing detailed reports and maintenance data to inform leadership of operational status and resource needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
