You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Engineering Branch within the Environmental Compliance Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

You will review and interpret applicable regulations, recommend solutions, coordinate program elements, and take action to ensure compliance with stormwater program mandates. You will field inspect Base activities to ensure they are performed in compliance with governing stormwater permits and regulations. You will advise facility operators of regulatory requirements. You will perform basic scientific research and data collection for development of Base projects, studies, plans, and programs to comply with current and future stormwater requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, developing and providing oversight of the stormwater program to ensure facility operations achieve missions and comply with environmental requirements for stormwater management. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
• 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or
• LL.M., if related; or
• combination of education and experience that equates to one year of experience.
