You will serve as a Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist in the Department of the Navy of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. The position supervises the Inspections and Compliance Branch within Camp Pendleton's Environmental Security Department and manages the following environmental programs: environmental inspections, environmental training, pollution prevention, enforcement action resolution, integrated pest management, and environmental management system.

Duties

You will receive incoming work assignments, determine project priorities, and assign projects for accomplishment. You will coordinate tactical environmental planning, acting as the focal point for day-to-day military training and planning, and facilities land use planning within the directorate. You will meet and speak for Camp Pendleton during briefings and meetings with federal, state, and local governmental agencies concerning approval of plans, permits and programs. You will determine and establish needs, objectives, exercising decisions, prioritizing programs, scheduling and commitment of resources to attain departmental goals You will provide leadership and exercise the full responsibility necessary to maintain an effective and productive workforce and ensure a continuous flow and exchange of information between employees. You will advise on the implementation of environmental compliance programs and activities with consideration of federal, state, and local laws

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1.) Providing leadership and exercising the full responsibility necessary to maintain an effective and productive workforce and ensure a continuous flow and exchange of information between employees ; (2) Advising on the implementation of environmental compliance programs and activities with consideration of federal, state, and local laws; (3) Determining and establishing needs, objectives, exercising decisions, prioritizing programs, scheduling and commitment of resources to attain departmental goals; (4) Developing annual budget obligations plans, tracking execution, validating and reconciling disparities and identifying shortfalls and obligation trends through the chain of command; and (5) Providing program, division, and directorate representation at relevant meetings, conferences, and discussions with federal, state, and local governmental regulatory agencies and contractors.
