You will serve as a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC in the Production Trades Division, Industrial Execution Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
You will independently perform depot level overhaul, disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, alignment, installation and maintenance on electronic equipment of moderate complexity or a system limited complexity.
Duties
You will set up and operate stand-alone Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) which is used to test and troubleshoot Weapon Repairable Assembly (WRA).
You will select and load the test program for the unit under testing.
You will evaluate fault reports to determine if an item should be returned to the repair section or if repair or adjustment can be made so testing can continue.
You will work from manufactures specifications, schematics, block diagrams or technical orders.
You will use a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, signa/pulse generators, oscilloscopes and frequency counters.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required level(s) of certification and/or training.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Incumbent will be required to be Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified for this position.
- This position requires working at ground level and on occasion working on platforms which requires climbing. Incumbent is required to abide by Fall Protection Policy and wear appropriate restraint systems when working 4 feet above the ground.
- You may be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
- You are required to participate in a medical surveillance for noise and sight.

A. Have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Overhaul, disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing troubleshooting, alignment, installation and maintenance on electronic equipment of moderate complexity or a system limited complexity; 2) Evaluate, perform functional tests, trouble shoot and determine the extent of repair required; 3) Using a variety of hand tools to effectively execute repairs, and replace defective components; and 4) Operating electronic principles such as but not limited to: microminiaturized digital and solid state integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, tube circuits, antennas, signal transmission, oscillation, and amplification.
B. Have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including: 1) Overhaul, disassembly, repair, and modification, assembly, testing troubleshooting, alignment, installation and maintenance on electronic equipment; 2) Evaluate, perform functional tests, trouble shoot and determine the extent of repair required; and 3) Using a variety of hand tools to effectively execute repairs, and replace defective components.
C. Have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1)Disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, alignment, installation and maintenance on electronic equipment; and 2) Using a variety of hand tools such as soldering irons, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
