You will serve as an Electronics Mechanic in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will maintain ongoing prototype systems; implement maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of systems previously assigned to the activity. You will maintain complex systems that have frequent engineering changes such as design, construction, operating and servicing procedures. You will set up and operate automatic (ATE) and standalone test equipment which is used to test/troubleshoot Weapon Repairable Assembly (WRAs) and/or Service Repairable Assembly's (SRAs). You will assist engineering personnel in developing, debugging, or modifying diagnostic programs by recommending changes where necessary and identifying apparent contradictions between test specs or requirement documents and test programs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must take and pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • You may be required to participate in a medical surveillance for noise and sight and respirator.
  • Must obtain and maintain all required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.
  • You may be required to lift up to 40/45/50 pounds
  • You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You may be required to work all shifts on a rotational basis including overtime.
  • You will be required to be CPR certified in this position.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including 1) Determine work sequence, selecting test equipment, locating malfunction and completing repairs; 2) Implement maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of systems; 3) Overhaul, disassemble, repair, modify, assemble, test, troubleshoot, install and maintain electronic systems; 4) Operate and maintain complex automated test equipment (ATE); 5) Interpret manufactures specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders; 6) Determine the operation of circuits, locate points from which to take readings and analyze circuit layout and make visual inspections . I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including; 1) Assist with determining work sequence, selecting test equipment, locating malfunction and completing repairs; 2) Implementing maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of systems; 3) Can overhaul, disassemble, repair, modify, assemble, test, troubleshoot, install and maintain electronic systems; 4) Operate and maintain complex automated test equipment (ATE); 5) Interpret manufactures specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders; 6) Determining the operation of circuits, locate points from which to take readings and analyze circuit layout and make visual inspections. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. C. I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including:1) Follow directions on Implementing maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of systems; 2) Can overhaul, disassemble, repair, modify, assemble, test, troubleshoot, install and maintain electronic systems; 3) Operate and maintain complex automated test equipment (ATE); 4) Interpret manufactures specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders; 5) Operation of circuits, locate points from which to take readings and analyze circuit layout and make visual inspections. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. I have the ability to perform simple tasks or I have received training on this type of work. I do not have on-the-job training or the abilities described above.
