Duties

You will fabricate, overhaul, modify, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintains electronic equipment. You will maintain electronic equipment of limited complexity such as sub assemblies, printed circuit cards, and chassis. You will utilize standard techniques and tools to make repairs entailing similar tasks as directed on less complex electronic equipment. You will perform standard soldering operations on multiple sub assemblies, such as printed circuit boards, cable/harness assemblies, connectors, and power supply assemblies. You will operates automated test equipment (STE) to perform standardized testing operations and utilize test equipment following prescribe procedures to determine repairs.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes AS required.
  • Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.
  • Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States/Territory driver’s license.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
