About the Position: This position is with 8th Theater Sustainment Command, G8 located at Fort Shafter, HI. Oahu is the 3rd largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It is home to about three-fourths of the state's population. Honolulu is the state capitol and the 11th largest U.S. metropolitan city. Duties

Responsible for executing a major segment of the organizational budget. Reviews and validates obligations, expenditures, reimbursable orders requests for allotments by examining accounting records, through dialogue with program officials and their staff, and by reviewing financial documents. Participates in the justification and prioritization of Unfinanced Requirements (UFRs). Provide budgetary advisory services for a major segment of the organizational budget. Responsible for formulating and justifying a major segment of the organizational budget.

Specialized Experience (GS-11): One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing the formulation and justification of budgets; and determining obligations and expenditures of funds. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: accounting or finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Specialized Experience (GS-12): One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing the formulation and justification of budgets; determining obligations and expenditures of funds; and advising program managers on the availability, obligation, and expenditure of funds. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
