You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST (COMBAT DIVING MANAGER) in the N8 of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.

Duties

You will coordinate studies and tests involving NSW diving procedures, equipment, and systems. You will provide management support for all diving programs to include Underwater Breathing Apparatus (UBA), diving support systems and associated equipment. You will serve as project manager for NSW Combat Diving combat diving programs. You will monitor technology development. You will review recommendations for increased capabilities and supports detailed mission analysis to form recommendations on determination of need. You will serve as Contracting Officer representative (COR) for combat development programs and major events and exercises, including but not limited to TRIDENT SPECTRE and TRIDENT ORION for approximately a $3 million annual budget. You will develop operational requirements documents. You will represent the command at meetings, conferences, boards, symposiums, and operational force visits.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position requires a minimum Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification at the PRACTITIONER Level for PROGRAM MANAGEMENT within 2 years of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, evaluating, and advancing all aspects to achieve the best combination of forces, equipment, and support attainable within the fiscal constraints for SOF undersea mission accomplishment.
