You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Logistics Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will organize and coordinate an effective receiving operation. Signs receiving control documents, verifying items, advised appropriate authority of discrepancies, shipments are unloaded in proper sequence and area for checking.
You will organize and coordinate an effective storage operation. Performs a complete range of storage, re-warehousing, and consolidation assignments such as placing, arranging, rotating, marking, and tagging of items.
You will select and assemble items for issuance/shipment based on priority, type of material, mode of transportation, destination, and type of transaction.
You will assist in accomplishing inventories by counting items and properly completing tally listings and other inventory documents.
You will operate automated material handling and identification equipment to include mobile stock selectors and automated equipment such as high-rise automated storage and retrieval vehicles, to move, stack and unstack, bin, and position material.
You will maintain records and documents actions. You will use computer terminals, optical readers, bar code wands, scanners, etc. to input nomenclature and description of changes.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States Class C driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid forklift license up to 6,000 lbs. within 30 days of the Entrance on Duty date (EOD).
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
