You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Production Control Product Family (Code 960), Production Department (Code 900) of the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Duties

You will provide technical research assistance and direct logistics support to the Production Department Code 900 maintenance planning personnel to meet mission requirements. You will conduct root- cause analysis for any material not received prior to SOA (Start of Availability, initiates and implements plans to prevent future reoccurrences and delays. You will manage and verify procedures involved with the identification, procurement, receipt, inspection and storage of Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) for the Production Department.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience identifying and integrating requirements for services needed to support a logistics program. Experience identifying actual or potential shortfalls/disconnects impacting other logistical systems. Experience researching materials and supporting analysis to resolve logistical problems/determine causes. Experience evaluating reports to monitor and ensure compliance with procedures. Experience utilizing various automated databases/systems for determining, material availability, procurement, tracking expediting and performing technical research. Education

If using education to qualify, the applicant must have one of the following:

GS-11:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of a three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
