This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at SS/Office of the Director/Video Production Section Fort Meade, Maryland. The Defense Information Systems Agency's Visual Information team is looking for a highly skilled video producers who has been focused on the video and film storytelling and discipline for at least the time at their previous employer.

Duties

Manages multi-year, multi-step campaign as for the agency while ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met on time.. Produces, directs and manages multiple high end cinematic productions while overseeing the onset responsibilities of film crews. Manages multiple high end video productions while balancing pre-production, production and postproduction deadlines for each project's requirement is critical. Assigns video projects to specific editors and editorial suites based upon a number of factors to include; special effects required, audience, availability and technical level of the project. Performs high level, Scriptwriting, Motion graphics, Visual Effects and Editing skills required.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in filming, lighting and editing high-impact visual communications that support an agency's mission and strategic goals. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess: Ability to manage multiyear, multi-step campaign as for the agency while ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met on time. Experience in Producing, Directing and managing multiple high end cinematic productions while overseeing the onset responsibilities of film crews including but not limited to Cinematographers, 1st and 2nd AC's, Grips, Gaffers, Best boy, Dolly, Best Boy Electric, Steadicam operators, Hair and Make-up, special effects crews and other staff members. Ability to manage multiple high end video productions while balancing pre-production, production and postproduction deadlines for each projects requirements is critical. They possess a deep understanding of cinematography principles and elements, as well as the latest trends and styles. High level, Scriptwriting, Motion graphics, Visual Effects and Editing skills required. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Competencies: Communication, Communications and Media, Multimedia Technologies, and Program/Project Management Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level.
