You will serve as a INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY OFFICE of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will responsible for the administration, control , registry, safeguarding and physical protection of all U.S. Collateral Top Secret material for COMNAVMETOCCOM and NAVOCEANO.
You will be responsible to develop a system of checks and controls to ensure a high quality of reproduction is achieved and maintained.
You will maintain a continuous chain of signed receipts and disclosure records for all Top Secret material and ensure physical inventory of Top Secret material is conducted annually.
You will maintain a current roster of individuals within the Command who are authorized access to Top Secret materials and ensuring custodians are properly cleared of accountability for collateral Top Secret classified material.
You will ensure that physical inventories of NATO Secret materials is conducted annually.
You will ensure custodians are properly cleared of accountability for NATO classified material when relieved of their custodial responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
* Experience safeguarding classified information;
*Experience disposing of classified material to include Top secret and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO);
*Experience utilizing security policy, regulation, procedures for information, personnel and physical security;
* Experience recognizing security violations and function as member of NAVOCEANO Security Team
GS-07: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
*Experience assisting with safeguarding classified information;
* Experience disposing of classified material to include Top secret and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO);
* Experience recognizing security violations and function as member of NAVOCEANO Security Team

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
FOR
GS-09:
SUCCESSFUL completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
FOR
GS-07:
SUCCESSFUL completion of one full year of graduate level education OR you have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement OR you have a combination of education and experience that equates to one year of experience.
