This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228. This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP). This position is with the Small Business Administration, Office of International Trade. There is one opening in Missouri (St. Louis or Kansas City) and one vacancy in North Carolina (Charlotte or Raleigh). Provide guidance to U.S. small businesses on entering international markets through trade development and export finance programs.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • You must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

GS-14 Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service) obtained in either the Public or Private sector that includes three of the following five specialized experiences: 1) Originating or underwriting small business loans or commercial loans (e.g., commercial and industrial loans) or issuing credit risk mitigants (e.g. letters of credit or trade credit insurance); OR 2) Originating or underwriting asset-based loans (ABL); OR 3) Serving as a loan officer, portfolio manager, or product specialist at the assistant vice president level or higher in a financial institution, financial services company, or federal agency; OR 4) Marketing, selling, or supporting international trade finance products or export finance loans; OR 5) Marketing, selling, or supporting international trade finance payment methods (e.g., letters of credit or foreign exchange). These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. It is available for your review on OPM's Qualifications web site: General Business and Industry Series, 1101 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 12/18/2023.
