You will serve as a Recovery Care Program Specialist of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will manage the referral process and administrative actions; communicate and coordinate to ensure recommendations and documentation are received for referral packages. You will provide educational presentations regarding the referral process and external support capabilities. You will determine issues and collect relevant data from sources; prepare materials to provide recommendations and resolutions of program and/or administrative issues. You will support and assist in evaluating results of audits and inspections; support development of improved procedures, and internal and external controls to prevent fraud, waste and abuse. You will prepares program-related correspondence, reports, and/or other written materials associated with established organizational programs, policies, and/or operations. You will ensure that all actions taken by the local Recovery Care Coordinators (RCCs) are being carried out in accordance with laws, regulations.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must complete training on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 which provides federal protections for personal health information.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Recovery Care Program Specialist specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural nature related to recovery care. You have experience providing general and personnel administrative support to the Wounded Warrior Battalion (WWBn), Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) detachment, and wounded, ill and injured marines and sailors and their families by improving the effectiveness of administrative operations through the establishment of appropriate organizational structures and use of efficient work methods and procedures. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
