About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 83D 704th Military Intelligence Brigade 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion Detachment Fort Meade, MD .

Duties

Represents INSCOM, the 704th MI BDE, the Army Technical Control and Analysis Element, and Army Cryptologic Operations with responsibilities for coordinating mission requirements that support Army, INSCOM and Army Tactical Intelligence units. Conduct SIGINT operational readiness preparing tactical SIGINT units for operations in Combatant Commands across the globe. Provides guidance and direction to facilitate Army Forces involvement in, and utilization of, National Systems in support of Army Tactical SIGINT requirements. Represents locally assigned Tactical Units at high-level forums, working groups and committees which review, coordinate and approve Tactical Overwatch and Reach Operations requirements, concepts and activities for implementation by Tactical Forces.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) will be required 25% of the time
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
