About the Position: The Human Resources Assistant position is located at the Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate, Army Personnel Records Division, H9, at Fort Knox, KY. Performs a variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of Army Reserve personnel programs. Duties: military personnel management relating to personnel of the Army Reserve, Military retirees, and the family members of Reserve personnel.
Duties
Apply a variety of legislative, regulatory and procedural requirements applicable to reserve personnel actions and activities.
Compile reports and other records for action or for information purposes.
Know the purpose and content, military personnel, automated personnel systems, i.e., RDMS, PERMS, RCIS, RPAS, DJMS, and applicable rules, regulations and procedures.
RDMS - Reserve Database Management System; PERMS - Personnel Electronic Record Management System; RCIS - Reserve Component Input System; RPAS - Retirement Point Accounting System; DJMS - Defense Joint Military Pay System.
Review transactions, utilizing resources and guidelines to complete or process documents and reports, or to determine their sufficiency, accuracy, and completeness.
Initiate or respond to requests for factual data or documents relating to military personnel files, status or transactions, or to inquiries regarding regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves using the laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to a personnel system, such as transition, retention, retirement and separation, entitlements, benefits, awards, decorations, and corrections to personnel records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
