Duties

You will be performing the full range of painting, to include surface preparation, blending and matching paints, and coating of various surfaces. You will be reviewing work order requirements reflecting structures to be constructed, installed, modified, altered, or repaired. You will be interpreting and applying complex building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine materials, tools, and equipment required for the project. You will apply a full range of carpentry methods in accomplishing complex tasks requiring construction of irregular sizes, shapes, and angles with precise and accurate dimensions. You will inspect buildings for leaks and make permanent and temporary repairs to leaks.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to obtain certification for Lead Remediation and Asbestos Removal and you will be required to take occupational health examinations.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Work includes Reviewing work order requirements; building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, and other miscellaneous items; AND determining material, tools, and equipment needed for the project and how or what repairs need to be made.
