About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S, Cyber Center of Excellence -- US Army Signal School at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.

Duties

Collaborates with senior leaders to ensure learning programs are aligned with organizational needs. Manages the work of employees that execute electronics program of instructions (POI) within classrooms, laboratories, and field environments. Defines task and milestones to achieve organizational objectives while ensuring optimal use of resources. Reviews the work of subordinates for compliance with policy, timely accomplishment objectives and effectiveness. Develops comprehensive plans and strategies for the integration of all projects, actions and activities for Division. Identifies all materials required for conducting trainings courses for electronics (e.g., communications systems, voice and digital telecommunications, satellite and antenna systems, fiber optics, tactical radio systems, and IT systems). Provides technical expertise on application of automation training standards from higher headquarters directives and DOD decisions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • May be required to serve as a Billing Official (BO).
  • May be required to serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • May be required to obtain and maintain Instructor training certification, Common Faculty Development per TRADOC regulation 350-70.
  • May be required to re-certify instructor qualifications every five years.
  • Business related travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
  • One-year supervisory probation period may be required.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by the ability to Supervise and Lead; 1) an Academic Training Branch in the performance of its training mission by ensuring manpower, risk management, facilities, training devices, knowledgeable instructors, and supply requirements for assigned student loads; 2) Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure learning programs are aligned with annual planning, short- and long-term strategic objectives, and specific business objectives; 3) Plan, direct, review, and manage the work of employees (mil/civ) that execute electronics programs of instruction (POI) within classroom, laboratory, and field environments in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training Development process, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Dept. of Defense (DOD) training requirements, and local policy/regulations; 4) Collaborate with Training Developers to ensure content is current and that activities are engaging and effective. This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
