You will serve as a Fuel Distribution System Mechanic in the Manchester Fuel Department Maintenance Division of NAVSUP FLC PUGET SOUND.

Duties

You will have the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace defective equipment and components, like motors, relays, solenoids, switches, safety devices, among others You will have a solid understanding of fuel distribution and storage systems, as well as the physical properties and associated risks of handling various types of petroleum fuels You will be able to interpret and apply plans, blueprints, and schematics. You will have the proficiency in the use of hand tools, shop equipment, and multi-meters.

Examples include but are not limited to pipecutting and threading tools, portable pumps, hydrostatic hose testing machines, air compressors, fuel tank cleaning and purging equipment, proving tank and master meters, torque wrenches, bearing and gear pullers, bench grinders, hydraulic presses, cutting torches, wrenches, calipers, power drills, and vacuum pumps. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
