About the Position: Serve as a Supply Technician performing work in the overall accountability of expendable and non-expendable equipment, procurement of supplies, repair parts, and the storage of supplies and equipment. This is a PERMANENT Supply Technician position with the Directorate of Public Works located at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Serves as a card holder for the Government Purchase Card Program to purchase organization supplies and services according to established contracting procedures. Performs technical supply work and responsible for maintaining Army property accountability utilizing automated systems (e.g., Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-A) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW)). Participates in monthly inventory process. Reconciles purchase activity through US Bank and fills out and submits required financial logs to the Resources Management Office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 5% of the time.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License to operate a forklift within 90 days of employment.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • Subject to call back 24/7, for emergency situations.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Organizational AwarenessTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
