About the Position: Serves as Supply Inventory Technician participating in the management and property accountability of the equipment and property of the Fort Jackson's weapons pool, supply items such as, both materials and property (i.e., office, building and packing supplies; weapons; ammunition, mission items in support of manufacture, weapons administrative) required to maintain installation-wide operations.
Duties
Performs work relative to stock availability, accountability and procedures for all installation weapons pool items loaded and not loaded in the automated AMC Standard Installation Supply system (DSISS).
Assists management and receipt holders in assuring assigned hand receipt reflects appropriate authorization documents, current stock number and nomenclature, authorized quantities and other pertinent property control entries.
Conducts inventories of weapons, and equipment IAW applicable regulations and accurately completes all forms and records associated with the operations of the arms storage facility.
Incumbent will be required to be a hand receipt holder of real or accountable property.
Ascertains by examination and observation that receipts, storage, use, disposition, and accounting records conform to procedures prescribed by applicable regulations and directives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- Must be able to pass required pre-employment physical examination. Heavy lifting requirement up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator's License within 3 months.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Incumbent will be required to complete DA Form 7281 Command Oriented Arms Ammunition and Explosive Security Screening and Evaluation with is required by Army Regulation 190-11.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
