About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Responsible for management of a group of supplies and material categories ranging from general common use items to weapons, petroleum, oil, lubricants (POL), and vehicles.
Analyzes data statistics and records concerning stock status, projected requirements, availability, and delivery schedules.
Ensures reconciliations, overdue and backlog reports are processed in accordance with guidelines
Coordinates processes with installation customers and Army Material Command (AMC) representative.
Serves as VISA IMPAC Purchasing Official for 1 or more sections within the Division.
Operates commercial type trucks to pick up or turn in equipment.
Resolves distribution problems.
Establishes help tickets.
Provides work direction and guidance to one or more lower graded supply clerks.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY travel may occasionally be required.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- A valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
- A pre-employment physical is required and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.

Specialized Experience Statement: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Manage supply inventory to support organization needs for property accountability; 2) Coordinate inventory processes through internal and external organizations; 3) Obtain reports from automated systems to measure performance; and 4) Review purchase requests in accordance with organization requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
