You will serve as the Deputy Human Resources Director (DHRD) in the Director's Office, Human Resources and Organizational Management (HROM) Branch, Administration and Resource Management (AR) Division, Headquarters, United States Marine Corps (HQMC). You will manage daily human resources operations and act for the Director on all HROM wide matters during the Director's absence.
Duties
You will direct HROM operations and advise the Director and key officials of serviced organizations on matters relating to human resources administration including legislation, regulations and policies.
You will provide liaison with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and other organizations of Department of Navy (DON), Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal agencies on human resources and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters.
You will provide human resources expertise for inspections of civilian human resources functions.
You will provide advice and assistance to the Marine Corps Civilian Program section in various phases of civilian personnel administration.
You will provide consultation and advisory services through subordinate staff to employees and management on recruitment, classification, compensation automated systems and services provided by OCHR-San Diego.
You will directly supervise an overall staff of approximately 5 employees.
You will provide technical and administrative advice, instructions and counseling to staff members.
You will make decisions on technical and personnel problems presented by subordinate supervisors.
You will allocate local resources and ensure their effectiveness.
You will find and implement ways to eliminate or reduce bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building and improve business processes.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing, directing, or managing the delivery of civilian federal human resources (HR) services involving one or more of the following functions: staffing and recruitment, position classification, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, oversight of automated personnel information systems, or employee development; ensuring compliance with governing laws and regulations; developing, interpreting, or advising senior management on human resource policies and administration; or providing input for the strategic planning of human capital resources for an organization.
