About the Position: Martin Army Community Hospital Ft. Moor GA. Building 9250. Office environment Hours are typically 0730-1600. Fort Moore is located in Southwest Georgia, in what is fondly called the Tri-Community. This consists of Fort Moore; Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. Alabama's capital, Montgomery, and Georgia's capital, Atlanta are both only an hour and a half away. Fort Moore is also only a few hours' drive from Florida's Gulf shores and the mountains of North Georgia.

Duties

Provide administrative and management support to the clinic Group Practice Manager (Health System Administrator). Identify the need for analyses, reports, and statistical data within a medical facility. Develop the clinic’s budget for upcoming fiscal years for the department. Review standard operating procedures for the organization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) of 10 % may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the coordination and evaluation of the healthcare delivery processes within a medical treatment facility or clinic; analyzing the cost effectiveness of personnel and/or service contracts used in the healthcare delivery process for trends, deviations, or improvements; utilizing automated healthcare delivery or office automation systems to enter and retrieve data for reports; and assisting with the workload distribution among subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityFinancial AnalysisHealth Systems AnalysisHealth Systems Data Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
