About the Position: This position is located at Fort Moore, Georgia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new the Federal Service.

Duties

Serves as Health System Specialist for a medical department at a Medical Treatment Facility. Responsible for oversight and management of the administrative operations of the Department. Plans work, establishes priorities, assigns work, reviews, and accepts or rejects work. Functions as a liaison between departments and arbitrates between services within the Department,

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising staff in implementation of the department policies and programs; planning, directing, analyzing, and coordinating administrative activities within a Medical Treatment Facility; and establishing and/or assigning work within section. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
