Duties
Provide financial management advice and assistance to supported organizations, including the preparation, examination, analysis, presentation, and interpretation of financial data, records, and reports.
Reviews and analyzes a wide variety of documents, reports, policies, and procedures pertaining to the multiple appropriation accounts within one or more accounting systems or subsystems.
Provides advice and assistance to supported organizations, analysts, and technicians in the resolution of diverse, complex, or controversial financial problems.
Proposes new procedures and methods or modifies existing procedures and methods to resolve current problems and enhance the validity, accuracy, and integrity of financial processes.
Reviews and analyzes programs, practices, and procedures related to receiving, controlling, validating, recording, and reporting transactions affecting the asset, liability, revenue, expense, and budgetary accounts of supported organizations.
Examines internal controls systems and analyzes/evaluates effectiveness, adequacy, and interrelationships within/among segments of the system and other segments within the organization.
Requirements

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: analyzing financial and accounting activities, processes, and business practices in order to recommend process improvements; reviewing financial/accounting systems to assess their efficiency/effectiveness; and assessing data integrity and performance metrics within an automated accounting system.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
