About the Position: Serve as the Senior Aviation Analyst within the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) G-5. Work under the Direction of the G-5 who is one level below the Chief of Staff. Is an aviation technical expert and work independently to develop, define and communicate Army Aviation solution to the Army Senior leaders and Operating Force.

Duties

Responsible for leading and staffing Aviation Enterprise issues and solutions across the Army Aviation Branch. Manage several activities assigned to the G-5 to include the Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model (AESM), Commander’s Initiatives Group (CIG), and routinely briefs Army Aviation Senior Leaders. Represent the G5 or Commanding General’s position at multiple meetings routinely. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of Army Aviation. This position requires in depth knowledge of the current Aviation Force Design Update (FDU) applications and requirements across all DOTMLPF (doctrine, organization, training, material, leader development, personnel, and facilities) functions. This position requires in depth knowledge of the PPBE (Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution), Army Contracting Command (ACC) and Acquisition community processes. Serve as the deputy to the G-5 Proponent and is the Senior Aviation Military Analyst. Integrate FDUs and related or subsequent effort staff actions, concepts and programs across DOTMLPF. Lead the Annual Aviation Synchronization Session involving approximately 250 personnel. Represent the command during working groups and integrated product teams (IPT) involving Department of the Army (DA), major Army command (MACOM), Army Service Component Command (ASCC) and Direct Reporting Units (DRUs). Utilize techniques of program management and operations research combined with a knowledge of Army Aviation regulations, policy, doctrine and tactics, techniques and procedures. Brief the Council of Colonels, when directed, with courses of action, in progress reports or information briefs pertaining to the Aviation Enterprise. Directly supervise Department of Army Civilian grades GS13 and below.

  • This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Aviation OperationsManaging Human ResourcesTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
