About the Position: Serves as a Workforce Training Specialist for the U.S. Army Engineering & Support Center, Huntsville, Human Capital Management Office, Huntsville, AL.

Duties

Serve as a Workforce Training and Liaison Specialist for the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, (CEHNC) which includes several remote field offices. Administers the Center's Training Program through an Annual Training Needs Survey utilizing an automated training system. Assess organizational training needs and workforce trends to recommend training plans to managers and supervisors. Serve as CEHNC's liaison with the various human resources offices coordinating performance management or other personnel actions, following up and tracking timelines, and providing advice on CEHNC's personnel policies and regulations. Responsible for initiating and overseeing the annual training requirements providing guidelines, resolving problems that arise, and finalizing the Annual Training Plan.

  • Occasional Temporary Duty travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: applying analytical and evaluative method/techniques to issues concerning training and civilian personnel objectives; advising on training, performance management, and human resources functions; providing resolution of discrepancies in accomplishing the training program; establishing short and long range goals derived from training assessments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level or equivalent position in the federal service GS-07. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Management or other related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
